Platform drilling
With the Statfjord B award in 1978, Odfjell expanded from mobile drilling units into platform drilling market and established itself as the first Norwegian drilling contractor within platform production drilling on the Norwegian Continental shelf. Since 2003 we have been a successful player in the UK platform drilling market. In 2020, we are at the forefront of the contract-drilling sector with a large number of operations in the North Sea including the most sophisticated platform drilling installations both in Norway in in the UK; The Johan Sverdrup in Norway, the Mariner, Clair and Clair Ridge installations in the UK.

Proven safety and operational performance
Odfjell Technology has decades of platform drilling experience, running contract drilling operations on both the Norwegian and the UK Continental Shelves. The Drilling & Technology team operates, and has experience from, both floating and fixed production-drilling platforms. This experience includes operations on state-of-the-art drilling facilities, with cyber-based technology. The unit has received a number of awards for its excellent safety performance.
