Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG) is a Romanian energy company owned by Carlyle International Energy Partners and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and is active in developing its conventional gas resources in the Blacksea. Their current portfolio comprises the Midia Gas Development (MGD) project, which consists of the onshore and offshore infrastructure and the two gas production licenses at the Ana and Doina gas fields.
Execution of this project started in 2021, and Odfjell Technology expects to complete it within this summer. As part of the contract, the company has delivered its entire product line, including TRS, fishing, and rental services. Their leading-edge CRT technology solutions have already been implemented successfully in the Black Sea offshore location. The project has been executed with full support from Odfjell Technology Romania, from the company’s Ploiesti base.
Odfjell Technology has had to deal with several challenges for ensuring the smooth progress of the project. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has taken adequate measures to provide top-quality performance and service quality. The amount of time required for personnel to spend on this project was increased because of the quarantine requirements. As a result, the regular rotational schedules of the company had to be adapted, and as per the risk assessment carried out by the project team, sizing of the engineering pool was critical to ensure on-time delivery and no delays. Dealing with the current geopolitical situation was another serious challenge to address.
The goal of this project for Odfjell Technology is to deliver top-quality services throughout the drilling campaign. So far, minimal NPT and timely delivery and the company’s willingness to address every challenge during the project’s progression have resulted in efficient delivery and contributed to on-time well delivery.
