Odfjell Technology Projects and Engineering (P&E) division is experiencing an increase in activity and need to strengthen our onshore Projects & Engineering teams in Norway.
As a Structural Engineer in Projects & Engineering group, your role is to provide services for floating offshore wind units, mobile offshore drilling units and/or other offshore installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dynamic analysis of offshore marine systems, typical analyses include riser, mooring, operational, hydrodynamic, stability or structural
- Prepare study reports, technical reports and procedures
- Perform surveys offshore or onshore on floating units
- Dialogue and interface with clients and sub-contractors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and electrical, drilling and subsea engineers
- 3D modelling and 2D drawing of offshore steel structures.
- Global and local static calculations.
- Supplier and Installation follow-up, red mark-up documentation, mechanical completion, final documentation.
- Contribute to the development of in-house tools and knowledge sharing within the group
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Higher technical education within Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or related fields (MSc, BSc or equivalent)
- Knowledge of one or several of the following analysis software packages: Orcaflex, Sesam-package, Gmoor or Ansys
- Knowledge of scripting and programming to automate analysis using Python or Matlab.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling (Inventor/Aveva E3D or similar) and 2D design (Autocad/Microstation or similar)
- Knowledge of steel structures calculations (STAAD, Ansys, Sesam Genie or Mathcad).
- Good theoretical understanding concerning statics and steel structures
- Practical knowledge with fabrication of steel structure
- Good verbal and written skills in English and Norwegian
