Job Description

Formal background; relevant mechanical certificate of apprenticeship, or long relevant experience from similar position.
Min. 3 years relevant experience from mechanical workshop industry – CNC machines
Good English skills, both oral and in writing
RESPONSIBILITY:
CNC Machine Operation/Production
Load/unload parts within qualified time given
Must be able to distinguish and identify proper tooling/fixtures and jaws for efficient set-up
Inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability
Observes machine operation to verify accuracy of CNC machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper. Adjust CNC machine to control the process
Post edits CNC program to fine tune process for optimum performance with assistance of a lead person
Report tooling breakage or repair and need for new tools
Able to use material handling equipment with proven competence
Able to perform “first-piece” in-process inspection
CNC Machine Set-up
Review set-up for tooling selection
Install tools into machine CNC
Load CNC machine program
Makes adjustments (offsets) until part is machined to print
Secondary Tasks
– Deburr parts
– External set-up tasks, i.e. prepare for nextjob by completing set-up procedures while machine is running current job.
5S/TPM
– Clean and maintains CNC machine, tooling,and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition.
– Works safety to prevent on-the-job injuriesfollowing all safety regulations.
– Keep CNC machine, tools, and equipment andwork surfaces free of oil, grease, etc.
– Keep all tooling, inserts and other itemsstored in drawers or on work bench organized, labeled and in order.
Meeting Attendance
– Participate to all employee meetings.
– Attends and participates in all requiredtraining.
AUTHORITY:
Stop the operation if the job is unsafe, if the equipment is not fit-for-use, or if the make-up criteria is unacceptable
