Delivering Localised Excellence: Integrated Well Services Across APAC

Published 06.11.2024

To meet current energy demand and to allow the necessary investments into alternative sources of renewable energy to support decarbonisation, securing safe and sustainable oil and gas production must take a central role.

Investment and exploration into the APAC onshore and offshore market is required to increase energy production and security for the region. To enable this, energy majors and IOCs require an agile and trusted supply chain partner for integrated well services.

Active in APAC, with a regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and an established presence in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, Odfjell Technology is in prime position to be a supply chain partner of choice for the area.

We firmly believe in providing the highest level of customer service alongside our specialist tools and technologies. We have the capacity, experience and financial strength to be able to successfully execute projects in new territories as well as mature markets.

Well services for now and the future

No matter where you are in the world, Odfjell Technology’s standardised service delivery and procedures perform to the same high quality. Prioritising local support, we know our customers value this approach.

The Odfjell brand is already well known across our key APAC markets, and we aim to grow our existing product offering by introducing more services and technologies to our existing and new clients. Testament to this being a recent modular drilling rig contract award through our drilling operations department. The customer is trusting Odfjell’s 50+ year heritage and benefiting from our integrated offering, local presence and delivery of tools and personnel.

We see a growing demand for plug and abandonment (P&A) services across APAC where there are many wells which require to be plugged. This opens the door to potential carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) growth opportunities for the region, continuing the lifecycle of wells beyond final oil and gas production.

Earlier this year, we strengthened our P&A and slot recovery offering with the acquisition of McGarian TDC Ltd. We have also recently secured three well services contracts across Malaysia and South Korea, all of which being re-awards with existing customers, confirmation of our commitment to customer service and agile delivery in the APAC market.

Trust and heritage

The Odfjell name is known worldwide for our excellent reputation and quality services. This positive reputation, alongside our consistent dedication to maintaining it, supports our growth plans in Asia Pacific. We are confident that our people, skills, technologies and localised operations sets us up for continued success in this growing energy sector.
